Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, speaking at a press conference in Moscow, highlighted that many questions remain unanswered about Trump’s plan. “We have to wait for some details if this is a consistent action plan. There are nearly 1.2 million Palestinians living there—that is the key issue,” Peskov said.
Peskov further added that these people had been promised a state solution under relevant UN Security Council resolutions. “There are many questions like that. We don’t know the details yet, and we must be patient,” the spokesperson emphasized.
Earlier, on February 4, 2025, Trump announced that Washington intended to take over Gaza and relocate Palestinians as part of an extraordinary redevelopment plan. Trump claimed that the plan would transform Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East," though the proposal has drawn widespread condemnation from Palestine, Arab nations, and numerous countries around the world, including Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump confirmed that Palestinians leaving Gaza under his plan would not have the right to return. “No, they will not have it,” Trump said when asked by Fox News’ Bret Baier if Palestinians would retain a right of return.
Trump also stated that he intended to build permanent housing for Palestinians, arguing that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and would take years to be livable again. He described his Gaza plan as a future real estate development, where he envisioned creating a beautiful community for 1.9 million Palestinians.
Meanwhile, countries worldwide, including those in West Asia, have firmly rejected Trump’s proposal. Some even labeled it as ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.
Trump first revealed his plan for Gaza during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington last week. However, Palestinians have adamantly opposed the plan, declaring that they will never leave their land.
